The Importance of Wavelength Classification

Last week, we mentioned the importance of using Laser Devices, not IPL devices when receiving laser hair removal treatments.

The next important step to keep in mind is wavelength. Wavelength classification is imperative because not all lasers are created equal.

When light travels, it moves up and down in a wavelike pattern. The term wavelength is the distance between the highest and lowest point of the wave.

As a consumer you should know that some laser devices with different wavelengths work better than others. As advancing scientific research in the aesthetic laser field proved one particular wavelength of light to be more effective than others, equipment manufacturers began to patent the unique laser hair removal technology for exclusive company use

Tropicalaser is constantly researching and evaluating the efficacy of new laser equipment and uses the best tested and proven safe in Tropicalaser Centers.

The Stages of Laser Tattoo Removal

There are three stages to laser tattoo removal. During your consultation at Tropicalaser, we will estimate how many treatments it will take to remove your tattoo.

The first stage requires you to visit every 8-12 weeks for treatment. It may take several visits before you see any results at all, depending on the colors and size of your tattoo. As your body first starts to break down the ink, you may not see any significant changes immediately. Don’t fear! It’s part of the process.

The second stage is when you’ll start to notice the black and darker color inks fading and the brighter color inks, like red and blue, gradually lightening.

In the final stage, after about 5-15 visits, depending on the size and colors of your tattoo, the tattoo may be completely cleared. Some stubborn colors such as white may not be removed. Most of the ink will be absorbed by your body and your tattoo should be barely visible or not visible at all!

It’s important to remember to be patient! Most patients are thrilled after their initial few treatments but then become antsy as they move into the middle stages. Not every session will have the same effect, though the process remains consistent and successful.

Don't Be Fooled by IPL Devices! Only Go Where Lasers Are Used!

Laser hair removal treatments are a growing trend and one of the fastest growing procedures in the medical industry. Currently an estimated 5 million people a month are inquiring about Laser Hair Removal online and over 2 million people every year are reaping the benefits from laser hair removal treatments.

There are many different FDA approved light-based devices used in medical offices across the country to permanently reduce hair. The major difference of the devices is the energy output, also known as “class level” created by the FDA.

Class levels determine how deep beneath the skin the energy penetrates, the higher the class, the greater energy output and deeper penetration, and vise-versa. The two most common light-based devices used to perform laser hair removal are intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser devices.

IPL works well primarily for skin-rejuvenating procedures that require low energy, but all IPL devices are Class 2, meaning that the energy produced is enough to effectuate the skin just below the surface but generally does not provide enough energy to affect unwanted hair at the root. IPLdevices are commonly used for laser hair removal mainly due to the low cost of the equipment to the provider. They do not produce lifelong results, they only stunt hair growth rather than truly kill hair follicles at the root and patients who receive IPL treatment for laser hair removal will need to continuously receive treatments every 8 to 12 weeks to maintain the results. IPL devices are best suited for surface level skin rejuvenating procedures.

Laser devices use a precise wavelength of light that is specifically optimized for the treatment of last hair removal and are the highest class (class 4) and the most powerful class level approved by the FDA. They can permanently remove hair and provide lifelong results. Laser not only produced permanent results, laser also has other benefits like actually destroying the root of the hair so after a completed series of treatments the skin looks and feels softer because there is no longer any hair just beneath the skin’s surface. Laser devices will naturally tighten your skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles and age lines, reduce or eliminate brown spots or age spots in the treatment area, eliminate razor bumps and ingrown hairs medically known as pseudo folliculitis and leave your skin softer and smoother than ever before.

Here’s what Tropicalaser customers had to say:

Ivette P- Manhattan, NY: Nangelin and Tropicalaser are AMAZING. They have changed my life. First, she is the nicest person you will ever meet. She truly loves what she does and cares about her patients. She's a lifesaver! Regarding the treatments themselves, they are great. I'm having the full body experience and it's fantastic. The staff always makes you feel comfortable. They are also very accommodating. I recently moved out of the city and they always schedule me appropriately when I'm in town. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Karina Sophia S.- Miami, FL: I'm almost done with my treatments and although I was very discouraged at first, I have finally started to see the results-- and IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!! The pain, the cost, the time... I am (almost) hairless! And think I will get to my desired results after I'm completely done…Thanks to Nangeline's expertise and courtesy. She truly cares about her customers and wants us to be happy. When I had any questions or concerns (there were lots), she happily answered and addressed all of them. The technician makes you feel very at ease and is VERY patient (I twitch a lot...) Their hours are flexible, which is a huge plus for someone with regular working hours. The cost (even with a coupon) was not cheap, but when I see the results I am satisfied… Bottom line is, if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Tropicalaser again.
